History

ABOUT

Alec Peters began his basketball journey at the local grade school gyms in his hometown of Washington, IL. A standout player at Washington Community High School for the late Coach Kevin Brown, Alec developed a love and work ethic for the game that helped him realize that he could play at the next level. He received more than 25 scholarship offers before committing to Valparaiso University. By the time Alec graduated from Valpo in 2017 he became the schools all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and free throw shooter. Not to mention a bachelor’s and graduate degree among the many accomplishments in his college career. The Phoenix Suns selected Alec in the second round (54th) of the 2017 NBA Draft. The highlight of his rookie season as a professional came at the very end when he scored 36 points in the final game of the season, setting a few rookie records for the Phoenix Suns in the process. Since then, Alec has played at the highest level for four different Euroleague teams and lived in four different European countries in what has been an amazing pro career thus far. Championships, individual awards, and incredible stories have come at every step in his journey. He is proud to share all of it with the people who participate in Alec Peters Basketball Camps. Alec is currently living in Athens, Greece with his wife, Maddie, and their daughter, Ava and enjoying his 8th professional basketball season. For more than 15 years, Alec has poured his life into the game of basketball and he hopes to pass on all the knowledge and experience to the youth in the Central Illinois community.
